People can be forgiven for thinking that the only thing that happens in a football stadium are games of football. However, even the mighty Southampton Football Club only play 19-home games in a year. To keep the pitch in true premier league condition the players even train at another venue.
So that leaves 346-days a year that the stadium could be sitting empty. However, there is an in-house company at Southampton Football Club called Halo Conferences & Events. They make sure that as many of those 346-days as possible have an event of some shape taking place. Christmas parties, the occasional wedding, lots of conferences, exams, product launches. The list goes on and on as to what takes place there.
In August, Halo Conferences & Events had been hired to hold the birthday celebrations of a fine young man called Dylan. It was his 18th Birthday and he had a huge amount of family and friends that wanted to celebrate this momentous day with him.
Dylan’s 18th was being held in the Markus Liebherr lounge. It’s a great room for a St Marys Stadium birthday party and can easily seat over 150-people for a dinner. Talking of which, just because it’s a football stadium, don’t expect pies and hot dogs for food. These guys specialise in seriously mouth-watering, fine dining.
Booth Butler for the evening was Rob. He got to the stadium earlier in the day to set-up the photo booth so that it was all set to go at the start of the party. At 7pm the party had started, the DJ was warming up his decks while a few of the younger party members did the mandatory knee slide competition across the dance floor.
Once the photo booth opened there was a lull and not a single person got in it for at least 90-seconds! From that point onwards it was non-stop party photo booth action.
On the ‘handsome’ stakes, Dylan ranks quite high and there was girl after girl wanting to have their picture taken with him in the photo booth. Then there were all of his family members that wanted a picture with Dylan to mark the occasion. I have to say at one point, Dylan almost looked photo boothed out. But having reached the mighty fine age of 18 there was no way he was going miss having pictures with any of his guests.
