Through our parent brand, Solent Studios, I’ve worked quite closely with Nicola Ridges-Jones of MSX. Primarily the photography work has been about business portraits and images they can use for press releases.
On a recent shoot there, Nicola mentioned to me about the Botley Park charity ball she was arranging. It was going to be an evening for the Fred Ridges Foundation supporters. This charity was set up 10-years ago after Nicola’s father sadly died from throat cancer. The foundation’s ambition was to raise £100,000 for The Oracle Cancer Trust. And this was the year they achieved that incredible goal.
How we can help
The Funky Photo Booth has a budget each year to help support charities where we can. This budget allows us to provide a photo booth at no charge or at a heavily discounted rate for charity events. When we learned about the Botley Park charity ball for the Fred Ridges Foundation, we were only too happy to help.
If your charity event would benefit from a photo booth, then please tell us a little about your event.
Booth Butler for the evening was Howling Hairy Howard. He arrived at Macdonald Botley Park which is just on the outskirts of Southampton near to Botley village. The gala dinner was being held in the Fair Oak suite which allowed Howard to set the booth up in the adjacent bar area. Botley Park is a venue local to us and is just a short drive from Funky Photo Booth HQ. We’ve worked there on a number of occasions and highly recommend it as a venue for large events that need onsite accommodation.
As the dinner came to an end, the guests were obviously itching to get their dancing shoes on and start partying. Comedian and musician Matt Black started the party off and the 150-people that had raised over £20,000 celebrated their amazing achievement.
The photo booth went down a storm giving guests a memento of the evening to take home with them.
A huge congratulations to everyone that helped raise such an incredible amount of money for FRF. Thank you for using our photo booth at your event and we hope to see you at an event in the near future. Thanks also to the team at Botley Park that are always so great to work with.
