Booth Moves – The Hog
The Hog is a mighty fine move in the booth. However, it can be seen by some as mildly aggressive and the chances of bruising is somewhere between ‘possible’ and ‘likely’ on the safety scale.
The photo booth hog, is when someone decides to get so close to the camera in the photo booth that nobody else can be seen in the picture. It’s a certain type of person that has the courage to pull off a good Hogging manoeuvre. Unfortunately, many fail as they mistime when to move in for the Hog. Quite often the Hogger is pulled out of the way, either for everyone else to be in the picture or to be replaced by another hogger.
You will note picture ‘Step 1’, there is no hogging. As ‘Step 2’ takes place, the Hogger achieves her goal. Unfortunately, in ‘Step 3’, the hogger mistimed and was pulled back from the Hogging limelight. ‘Step 4’ shows another Hogger finishing the sequence.
To become a successful Hogger in the photo booth we recommend the following:
Get your timing right. Allow the first picture to be Hog free.
Wait a little longer than you think you should do before moving in for the Hog.
After a successful Hog, wrap both of your arms around the person you think is most likely to Hog in the next picture.
Always go for another Hog in the last picture.
Remember, hogging should be fun and non-aggressive. The Hog should only be undertaken with intermediate photo booth frolickers and above. The “Art of the Hog” will soon be available on our YouTube channel.
